For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), Curated Souls is the controller of your personal data.

2. WHAT THIS POLICY COVERS

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal data when you visit curated-souls.com, join the waitlist, complete a First Edition application, or communicate with us.

3. DATA WE COLLECT

Depending on what you choose to share, we may collect:

  • your name, email address, city and confirmation that you are at least 18 years old;

  • your application responses, including information about your interests, values, relationship intentions, preferences and availability;

  • up to 5 photographs that you upload as part of your application;

  • communications you send to Curated Souls;

  • limited technical information, including cookie preferences.

Some information voluntarily shared in an application — including sexual orientation, relationship preferences, religious beliefs, political opinions, health information or information concerning sex life — may be special-category personal data under the GDPR.

We only process special-category personal data where you have given explicit consent through a separate, unticked checkbox in the application form.

4. WHY WE USE YOUR DATA

We use your data to:

  • administer the waitlist and First Edition application process;

  • review applications and curate the First Edition pilot;

  • contact you about your application;

  • propose a potential introduction where we believe there may be resonance;

  • share agreed information with another applicant only after both people have expressly accepted the introduction;

  • respond to your messages and requests;

  • operate and secure our website;

  • send occasional Curated Souls updates only where you have opted in.

Curated Souls does not use solely automated decision-making to accept, reject or introduce applicants. The process is human-led.



5. WHERE YOUR DATA IS STORED

We use the following service providers:

  • Squarespace, for the public website and application forms;

  • Google Sheets and Google Drive, for securely storing application responses and uploaded files.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal data.

Access to application information is limited to the Curated Souls founder and any person who has a genuine, authorised need to support the pilot.

6. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Squarespace and Google are international service providers. Your data may therefore be processed outside the European Economic Area.

Where this happens, the relevant provider uses safeguards intended to protect personal data in accordance with applicable data-protection law.

7. LEGAL BASIS

We process personal data:

  • because you have asked us to consider your application;

  • on the basis of your consent, where consent is required;

  • on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a careful, safe and human-led pilot; and

  • to comply with legal obligations where applicable.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting hello@curated-souls.com. This will not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.

8. DATA RETENTION & DELETION

We retain waitlist and application data for up to 12 months after your last meaningful interaction with Curated Souls.

You may request deletion of your information at any time by writing to hello@curated-souls.com. We will delete your application data, photographs and related records unless we are required by law to retain limited information.

9. YOUR RIGHTS

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of or restriction of your personal data. You may also object to certain processing and withdraw consent at any time.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

10. COOKIES

Curated Souls uses necessary cookies to enable the website to function. Optional cookies are used only where you have given consent through the cookie banner.

11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy as Curated Souls evolves. The current version will always be published on this page.
